Petworth PorchFest v2.0

We recently “re-skinned” the Petworth PorchFest website to reflect a slight shift in the design direction the festival is using for its social media and other marketing materials. The new version is lighter in at least two ways. First, it uses a paper white background consistent with this year’s Instagram promotions for the festival and the yard signs that have been set up on over 400 (!) porches throughout the neighborhood. Second, it was re-optimized to bring the mobile version down to less than 1MB in size despite a large number of graphics. The design treatment reduced the hard, square edges and constrained color palette that dominated the old version and replaced it with a more organic and colorful version. It’s a simple site at the end of the day, a single main page that makes the content easy to scroll, scan and consume.
